Manages the day-to-day HR operations for the 2-shift manufacturing facility. Manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. Recruits, interviews, and presents candidates to management to fill vacant positions. Manages vendor relationships. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. Maintains and retains records of insurance coverage, 401(k) plan and personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Evaluates, suggests, and implements employee engagement activities such as, but not limited to:
· Healthcare and wellness initiatives
· Bi-annual non-exempt and annual exempt performance evaluation process
· Employee communications and social media
· Years of service and birthday recognition program
In addition to employee engagement activities, We are looking for a problem solver and process implementer. HR Manager will be responsible for updating and implementing outdated HR processes and workflows to ensure compliance and efficiency.
The HR Manager must model and exhibit the company in interactions with all team members, vendors and customers: Speedy Action, Progress Day by Day, Relationships, Innovation, Never Give Up, and Grand Vision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources:
· Works closely with management to ensure that all employment laws and regulations are being followed.
· Manages the HRIS system, Paycor, to ensure all data is correct and the system is being maximized.
· Maintains handbook on policies and procedures; communicates updates to partners and employees to ensure proper compliance.
· Maintains current knowledge and understanding of new regulations and laws that are applicable to HR in business operations and ensures compliance (i.e. Affordable Care Act / healthcare reform, COBRA, FMLA, I-9, job site postings, OSHA regulations).
· Reports attrition, turnover, and other reports to management as needed.
Benefits and Compensation Administration:
· Manages and processes bi-weekly payroll in Paycor.
· Administers employee benefits: acts as liaison with benefit providers and employees to resolve claim and coverage issues; communicates benefit plans to employees.
· Verifies monthly premium invoices for payment.
· Administers COBRA and medical leaves to ensure governmental compliance.
· Coordinates open enrollment for 401(k) and group benefits, schedules meetings and communicates all changes/updates.
Risk Management:
· Facilitates the employee termination process, exit interviews, and manages day-to-day employee relations matters.
Recruiting:
· Coordinates recruitment efforts with hiring managers, advertises job openings, screens applications and resumes, participates in interviews and verifies background information provided. Manages relationships and process with temp agencies for hourly workers.
Employee Relations:
· Works with management to create and implement an employee communication strategy for organization wide messaging.
· Helps to facilitate a strong positive culture and supports efforts to become a 2022 Best Places To Work winner.
· Conducts investigations and oversee random drug testing.
· Coaches and counsels employees on a variety of issues.
· Handles disciplinary actions and progression with employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or SHRM, PHR Certification Required
5 years or more of experience in HR with full generalist knowledge and responsibilities required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Previous Payroll Processing experience, preferably using Paycor
Advanced knowledge of employment and labor law, compliance, and regulations
Advanced knowledge of benefits administration
Strong skill and Experience in working HR databases and reporting formats
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent problem-solving skills
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment
Must be able to manage sensitive information, with a high degree of confidentiality
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and HRIS systems
working environment and conditions
Office environment. May occasionally walk into the manufacturing plant environment. The manufacturing site may not be temperature-controlled. Employees in the plant are often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels and may be exposed to hazardous equipment on a daily basis.
Personal Protective Equipment is required on plant floor: Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs, and Steel Toed Boots/Shoes.
